Remember about four or five months ago, a newbie RPer who joined a mech RP with a flying game?

After months of library visits, three jobs, and many times of retrospect, I (Raptor) would ask to return to SRWUG@.

I am in the proses of setting up my return (I.E. Porting LJ stuff) So I will be a touch before I am ready for missions.

I played Mobius One (Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies) and I thank you for your time. All four or five months of it : )

We've moved to DW, although because of a certain issue some of the posts and tags will import only in a day or two. But still, we're there now, and any new posts you make, write there!

If you haven't already, remember to create accounts on DW for your characters, import stuff from the LJ account using the Organize -> Import Content feature, claim the OpenID account and join the DW communities. If you have problems with any of the steps, feel free to ask the mods.

The comms will be undergoing importing to Dreamwidth in one hour. That is 12 noon CST. Remember if you're posting between 12 Noon and 1:30CST there is no guarantee that your posts will be imported into the new comms.

A second announcement will go up in both the DW OOC and the LJ OOC when the import is all finished.

EDIT: The DW migration will begin in about ten minutes give or take. I need to start it early due to going to see Wreck it Ralph during the importing time. So at 11:45 CST the migration begins. Thank you for your time.

Just as a reminder, our moving day is the 3rd of November between 12 and 1PM PDT. I will be re-importing all of our material around that time and I strongly encourage everyone to make their Dreamwidth accounts for playing their characters right off the bat. The DW comms will open up at about 1:30 PDT just to make certain everything's imported properly.

Thanks to almost unanimous support and no major objections, we have decided to move the game to Dreamwidth. The official move will be on November 3rd - until that date, posting will continue on LJ. This is announced in advance to give everyone plenty of time to re-create their accounts on DW.

As far as recreating journals goes, the Import Content feature will allow you to import them fully from LJ - icons, posts, and so on. Mind you, there is now a hard-cap of 15 icons on DW unless you buy a paid which will give you a whopping 100 icons for a month or however as long as you want to pay for.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the comms will have a hard-cut off of posting between 12 NOON CST and 1 PM CST on November 3rd for re-uploading all of the material. If we wind up with more copies of our posts, well so be it. At least everything is preserved.

The addresses of the comms are the same, srwug_alpha_rp.dreamwidth.org, srwug_alphanews.dreamwidth.org and srwug_4komas.dreamwidth.org. Please subscribe to them as soon as you are done with your journals' move.

Additionally, you may also search on ATP and direct potential new players to the comms.

This is something the mod team has been discussing for a longer while by now, and didn't really keep secret. Basically, we're thinking about moving the game to Dreamwidth at some point in the near future. There will be multiple benefits to doing that - DW is more stable, offers more options, but most importantly, it has a much bigger roleplaying community, and doing so will let us attract more new players and bring a breath of fresh air into the game.

Remember, this is not something that will happen right here and now. We will take it slow with the moving and let you all know well in advance, so everyone will have the time to speak their mind on this issue and then move their characters comfortably to DW, when we move.

Feel free to discuss your stance on this in the comments to this post, especially if you're against the move. We might decide not to move if a significant number of people is against it, or if someone gives a good reason why we should stay on LJ.
