Heh. Axis.
[A lone figure sets at a table, a half-full glass in hand. The moment was finally at hand. The moment he'd been working towards all this time...]
A toast.
[The grin grows into a full-fledged smile. He's had to endure much to get to this point. But now it's come.]
A toast to zealots and the things that they do in the name of loyalty. And in turn, what they let me do in the name of "necessity".

[It's late at night, and the Chalice is once again in space. Stuff to deal with regarding the Wiedergburt Infection and all that. But Bian's got an emergency call... and it's for something else.]
Chalice. This is Bian. We've got a situation.
You mean on top of the Infection?
Yes.
It's Axis. Someone blew a chunk of it to bits. It's still in one piece though and it was mostly upper brass that got killed off...
... But as you can imagine, all hell's broke loose. Random cells and members of it are crying bloody murder, and a few of our friends have passed along that they've hijacked a colony. Considering the fact that the Red Comet and the Chancilor are on your ship though, I doubt any official order was given.
I'd hope not. And it doesn't make much difference either way. A bunch of angry spacenoids have their hands on a colony and it doesn't take many guesses to know what they plan on doing with it.
