Apologies and an Explanation

Okay, so anybody who was waiting for the "Endless Poem" mission to take place tonight was obviously frustrated that I never showed, and before I go into why, let me just say that I am so very, VERY sorry to have not made it. I know this was a big mission, if only because it marked the end of 00 Season 1 canon, so please let me assure you that the last thing I wanted was to ruin this mission.

That said, I think you all deserve an explanation. Today, at around 2:00 (Mountain time zone), my internet had a full out crash, and refused to work. Thinking it was something with the signal, I did some basic troubleshooting, restarted, even replaced the router with one of my old ones, but no luck.

After several calls to my provider (Century Link, for anybody who cares) all of which turned out to be pointless and no success, I just gave up and took my modem and router to a local fix-it shop to figure out what the hell was going on. They couldn't figure it out, so I tried taking it to Best Buy to see if they could trouble shoot it. They had no luck either, and said that the hardware was fine, that I shouldn't be having any issues, etc. etc. So I took it back, plugged it in, still not working.

On my next call to Century Link, the lady on the line finally informed me that my internet services had been remotely cancelled, as per request of the homeowner. The friend I'm renting from assured me that I was good until November 1st when I called her about that. The CL agent I ended up with on my next call did their usual stunning job of customer service and wasted almost half an hour before she FINALLY transferred me to the guys in charge of that, and after another half hour of wasted time, they finally put me on hold so they could go double-check the cancellation call.

TURNS OUT, someone down the street from me with the same provider had called a few weeks back, asked for a cancellation, and somewhere along the lines somebody flubbed the address number. They finally restored my internet about an hour ago at 9:00 (Mountain time zone), a full hour late for mission.

So again, I sincerely apologize to everybody who was waiting on me to get mission started, and just hope that this explanation sheds some light on the situation. Also, many apologies for writing a novel and a half of an explanation; I'm still extremely pissed and this seems a much more prudent method of managing frustration than breaking a window.

We've had this happen before here. Our internet/cable was shut off... because the neighbors hadn't paid their bill.

GG Time Warner... GG Century Link. GG...

Ugh, at least you got yours resolved quickly - I was out for about 4 days because of bad equipment!

Though, no wrong on your account on this. Just stupid internet companies.

That sounds like a horrible cluster fuck of awkward. At least it's all sorted out now, yes?

Hoooleee shit. o.o; That's a nasty bit of work you did there, but all done in a day? Clap clap.
