A plotline proposal/potential creative project
A little while after the TTGL mission finale I had a plotline idea. I talked about it with with some of my fellow players and one of the mods, and they expressed an encouraging amount of interest.
They recommended that I propose it formally in the OOC before making any IC posts, so here goes:
As an all-out war with Kairos Aspida looms, one of the PCs (mine, or somebody else's) assembles the considerable number of technicians, engineers, and Mad Scientists of the White Chalice together in a meeting, and makes a daring proposal:
To give the free people, underdogs, and guerilla fighters of Earth the power to resist Kairos Aspida's takeover, they should pool their technical knowledge, create an open-source design for a new kind of mecha that can go toe to toe with KA units and can be made with off the shelf components...then release the design blueprints for free.
Spiritually, this act would repudiate Kairos Aspida's ideal of concentrating all military power to themselves...by giving power and agency to the people!
The design of this hypothetical mecha, of course, would have to be properly thought out so that warlords and bandit-types couldn't exploit it to bully the weak. Designing it so that it could take on KA mechs yet be no more expensive to build than, say, a Scopedog will also be tricky.
Therefore, this post would have several sections in which characters would post suggestions and work out it's design, such as:
1. What will it look like?
2. What should it's capabilities be?
3. How do we keep bad guys from making use of it afterwards?
4. What should it's name be?
My hope is that this will be a cool way to defy KA, an opportunity to synthesize the cool bits of all the cool mechas from all our cool canons, and maybe a jumping off point for cool artwork.
So...what do you think? And any suggestions?
